Performer, composer, arranger, and producer
Studying performance jazz saxophone at the New Zealand School of Music, I’ve become a versatile performer, composer, arranger, and producer based in Auckland. Specialising in saxophone, clarinet, flute, and vocals, I was formerly a member of dDub and now lead my own band, Spiral Collective. I also hold the chair of lead alto saxophone and write and arrange for the Auckland Jazz Orchestra.
I’ve performed with artists like Eric Marienthal, Chris Thompson, Georgie Fame, Rodger Fox, and Dave Matthews, and appeared at festivals such as the Monterey Jazz Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival. I’ve recorded on 20 albums, composed and arranged 15 works for jazz orchestra, and produced 3 albums. I currently run my own studio, Welsh Hills Studios.
